Our Independent Craft Workshops
At Devour, we’ve always strived to be more than just somewhere to eat.
In the heart of the Holme Valley, and just a stone’s throw from the art hotspot that is Holmfirth, Devour has grown into something of its own community hub. A place where food, creativity and people come together. Alongside being ahigh-end Italian restaurant in Yorkshire, we’ve made space for something a little different: a calendar of arts, craft and experiential workshops designed to inspire, connect and slow things down.
Because for us, great experiences don’t stop at the table.
Our workshops are rooted in the same values as our food: craft, provenance and passion. We collaborate with independent artists, makers and local experts to create experiences that feel thoughtful, hands-on and genuinely memorable. It’s about giving talented people a platform, and giving our guests the chance to try something new, or rediscover something they didn’t realise they loved.
Recent would examples include flower arranging, ayurveda workshops or willow weaving classes, guided by skilled artisans, each experience is designed to be relaxed, creative and quietly indulgent. We’ve even stepped beyond the restaurant walls, hosting foraging walks in the local Huddersfield countryside, helping guests reconnect with the landscape and learn what’s growing right beneath their feet.
And because this is Devour, the experience doesn’t end there.
Most of our workshops include a chef-prepared lunch or meal, bringing everything back to what we do best. Generous, flavour-led Italian cooking with a Yorkshire influence. It’s a natural pairing: create something with your hands, then sit down, unwind, and enjoy great food in great company.
For those searching for things to do in Holmfirth, unique experiences near Huddersfield, or something beyond the usual dinner reservation, our workshops offer a different kind of day out. They’re perfect for date days, thoughtful gifts, small celebrations, or simply carving out time to do something creative.
In a world that moves quickly, these moments matter more than ever. Slowing down. Learning something new. Meeting like-minded people. Sitting around a table afterwards and sharing a meal that feels earned.
That’s why we do it.
To build a space that feels alive with ideas. To support local creatives. And to give our community of Devourees something to come back for again and again.
